David Glickman is the founder and managing partner of GEA Consulting Engineers , which was started in his attic in 1998. With their current staff of over 30 engineers, GEA is the leading MEP Engineer for large scale multi use projects, including residential, hotel and retail. GEA incorporates cutting edge technology and forward thinking design in all their projects and is especially proud of the repeat business they have been able to sustain with leading developers and retailers throughout the country. He received his BSME from Columbia University and worked for several large engineering firms before founding GEA.

Carlos Burbano, Principal
As Senior Electrical Engineer, Carlos Burbano brings an honesty-based nurturing to all his projects that fosters long-lasting client relationships. He has extensive experience in the engineering analysis and design of electrical systems, including service, power distribution, lighting, emergency power, controls, communications, fire alarm and security systems. His expertise also includes analysis and design of mechanical systems for a broad range of facilities. He is versed in computer analysis for energy conservation, system equipment selection, and life-cycle cost analysis. His experience includes several large, multiphased projects over his 30-year career.

Juan C.Toro, P.E. LEED AP, HBDP, CMPM, Principal
Mr. Toro is the Director of Engineering at the firm. He is an experienced mechanical engineer and has been responsible for designing complex and innovative mechanical systems for several LEED-certified buildings. Mr. Toro is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the States of New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and North Carolina. He was one of the first engineers in the country to receive the certifications for High-Performance Building Design Professional (HBDP) and Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP) from the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). He also holds certifications for Commercial Energy Plans Examiner and Commercial Energy Inspector from the International Code Council (ICC). Since 2005, he has been a LEED Accredited Professional through the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). Mr. Toro is also an Adjunct Professor at New York University and Pratt Institute in their School of Continuing and Professional Studies. He develops and teaches full semester courses and one day seminars to engineers and architects on HVAC design and the latest version of the Energy Conservation Codes. He is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) and the Urban Green Council. Mr. Toro has been recognized on the “Top 20 Under 40” list by Engineering News-Record (ENR) New York, and “Top 40 Under 40” list by Consulting-Specifying Engineer, which recognizes outstanding contributions of AEC professionals under the age of 40 to the construction industry.

Steven M. Winter
As a former principal of one of the NYC’s foremost MEP engineering firms, Mr. Winter serves as GEA’s Director of Business Development with the day-to-day responsibility for the procurement of new business and opportunities for growth in the industry. Mr. Winter brings decades of experience over the
changing landscape of MEP engineering and he uses this exclusive knowledge to bring forth the most optimal collaboration between our engineers and the industry partners we serve. He has been the senior project engineer involved in rehabilitation and retrofit of electro-mechanical systems for various projects, including over 200 hotels around the world, like the Hilton and Marriott portfolio. His body of work also includes some of the world’s largest hospitals, office buildings, residential buildings, schools, universities, large mixed-use projects, dormitories and laboratories. Among some of Mr. Winter’s most notable attributes include membership and past President in American Society of Plumbing Engineers (ASPE) in NYC and its Professional Plumbing Practices Advisory Committee to update NYC plumbing codes, and American Society for Sanitary Engineers. He has also authored numerous articles on various MEP subjects, including “Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)”, Plumbing Standards (1994) and “Low Flow Fixtures – New York City – Local Law 29/89″, Plumbing Standards (1994). Mr. Winter also has a teaching career at NYU that spans over 30 years.

Andrea Resto is the Director of Marketing and Finance at the firm. She is an accountant by trade and previously worked in the business management and non-profit industries before joining GEA in 2011. Mrs. Resto has a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from California State University Northridge and brings a strong financial angle to her marketing technique.
